Do eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables every day – Exercise alone will be pointless if you don’t change your diet. Eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables every day will condition your body towards burning off that belly fat.

Don’t eat too much red meat – Eating lots of fresh fruit and veg will be pointless if you carry on eating the burgers and steaks. Protein is essential for achieving your new body, but red meat is too full of fat and cholesterol. Instead eat more chicken and fish, preferably grilled or steamed and use healthier sauces.

Do exercise regularly – Set up a 30 minute exercise routine combining both cardio vascular and floor exercises. 20 minutes of working up a steady sweat and 10 minutes of crunches and leg raises will both burn off that belly fat and tone your stomach. Do this 4 times a week and you will be well on your way to a sexy flatter tummy.

Don’t injure yourself with situps – Research has shown that situps do just as much damage to the lower back, as they do to improve your stomach muscles. Crunches and leg raises are a much better and risk free exercise for toning your tummy.

Do be patient – Working on a regular diet and exercise plan will gradually burn off your belly fat and flatten your tummy, but it will also condition your body and mind to live that way and, therefore, keep your new body and flat toned stomach forever.

Don’t fall for the ‘lose weight fast’ promises – You have seen the adverts claiming “lose 40lbs in 4 weeks” and the like. Well it is possible, but to achieve these goals you have to virtually starve and work your body to breaking point. Statistics have shown that almost everyone who loses weight so fast, put it all back on again within weeks. This is because the body and mind cannot live with the intensity required over a longer period of time.
