Banish Cellulite With a Workout on the Power Plates

As we start to approach spring our attention focuses to getting into shape. However, even regular gym users will know there is one universal problem area that can be impossible to shift – cellulite. Cellulite can be unsightly and is most common in women (although men can also suffer). It is not something that affects just those who are overweight – in fact cellulite can be as much as a problem for lean and underweight women. Widespread evidence shows that diet and exercise are not always effective in banishing cellulite, and circulation certainly has a role to play. But before you give up all hope of ridding yourself from your “orange peel thighs” there may be one piece of fitness equipment that could deliver the miracle cure – the Power Plate.

Power plates are becoming an ever popular addition to gyms and health clubs not only in the UK but throughout the world. Their benefits were initially highlighted in 2006 thanks to celebrity users such as Madonna and Claudia Schiffer. However, the substantial price tag was a put-off for many (at around £7000). Manufacturers have spotted the gap in the home gym market and now there are several, quality models available to buy in the UK with more affordable price tags.

A Power plate machine delivers significant results from a relatively short and low impact workout by causing all the muscle cells in the body to contract and relax. Whilst resting, your muscle cells will typically contract and relax once per second. However, by simply standing on a power plate your cells are forced to contract and relax at least 50 times per second. This means that a 10 minute workout on a power plate is the equivalent to 1 hour of high impact exercise using more traditional fitness equipment.

To remove cellulite you will need more than just one session on the power plate. In fact, a course is recommended and results will vary from person to person. However, science shows that cellulite can be reduced by improving circulation and reducing toxins in the body. A power plate helps to achieve both these factors. Improved circulation is not only important when trying to banish cellulite – it improves your entire wellbeing. Using a power plate at low speeds specifically targets circulation as the cells benefit from increased levels of oxygen caused by stimulation. By improving circulation the body becomes more effective at removing toxins from the cells.

Buying a power plate fitness trainer is an investment and if you are unsure about the results you could achieve why not contact your local gym. Many gyms offer non-members the chance to book a course on their power plates and this gives you a chance to “try before you buy”. However, all research points to fantastic results, so power plates look set to become the “must have” piece of fitness equipment in every home in the very near future.

Banish Dark Circles under Eyes

Are you troubled by dark circles under your eyes, puffiness and eye bags? There are simple homemade recipes that can eliminate or decrease the appearance of dark circles.

At some point in our lives we all experience dark circles and puffiness around the eye area. Dark circles and puffiness adds unwanted age to our appearance. There are many factors that contribute to dark circles under the eyes. Below are the most common causes.

Genetics – If your parents have or had dark areas around and/or under the eyes, chances are you are predisposed to inherit this condition. Furthermore, if your family members suffer from puffiness and bags under the eyes chances are you will inherit this trait.

Medications – Any medicine that causes the blood vessels to dilate will produce dark circles under and around the eye area. The skin under and around the eye is very thin and thus the veins will show through producing a dark area.

Allergies – Hay fever, asthma or other allergies that causes watery and itching eyes can produce dark areas under the eyes. Allergy sufferers have a tendency to rub away their itchy watery eyes thus damaging the blood vessels below the very thin skin of the eye area which causes the veins to show through.

Nutrition – Maintaining a well balanced diet with proper nutrition and being fully hydrated affects the appearance of your skin. Your skin needs its vitamins to stay healthy just as the rest of the body.

Lack of Sleep and Fatigue – Sleep is your body’s rejuvenation mechanism. Lack of sleep shows through in the eye area such as dark circles under eyes, puffiness and bags under the eyes. Has anyone ever said to you “you look tired today”? The appearance of your eyes and the surrounding area are the first to show tell tale signs of not enough sleep.

Hormones – Changes in hormones from menstruation, menopause or from medicines that influence hormones can change your skin tone and texture. Again, blood dilatation which causes veins to enlarge will show through under the very thin skin in the eye area leaving dark areas.

Aging – The eye area is the first to show signs of aging with wrinkles, sagging skin and thinning skin. The disappearance of fat pads which sits directly below the eyes causes shadows to reflect off the hollows of the eyes darkening the area below the eyes. Additionally lack of elasticity and lack of moisture will darken the eye area.

The eye area needs special treatment to ward off signs of aging and dark circles. There are many products on the market that address the needs of the eye area. Additionally, there are many home made recipes to decrease the appearance and/or eliminate dark circles under the eyes. Below are homemade recipes specifically for the eye area.

Almond Oil – Easily absorbed into the skin and is an excellent emollient with nourishing properties. Almond oil promotes soft and smooth skin. Also used in massage therapy for its hydrating properties. Note: People who are allergic to it, or have nut allergies should avoid almonds and almond oil. Massage around eye area gently without stretching the skin for two weeks and see the improvement.

Tea – A cold compress of rosemary. Excellent for its antioxidant properties, and secondly has a remarkable stimulating effect on the skin. Mix 1/2 cup cup fresh rosemary and a quart of water to a boil and steep for 20 minutes, strain and then chill.Place cloth in liquid, wring out and place on eyes for 15 to 20 minutes, once a day or as needed. Note: rosemary essential oil has a highly stimulating action and may not be suitable for people with epilepsy or high blood pressure. The essential oil should also not be used during pregnancy.

Tea – A cold compress of Chamomile. Chamomile tones all types of complexions. The anti-inflammatory effect of the essential oil applied topically improves skin regeneration, and a cold compress does wonders for puffy eyes. Chamomile is used in facial steams to reduce puffiness and cleanse the pores of the skin. Steep tea bags and chill. Place cotton balls in liquid and apply to dark circles leaving on 10 to 15 minutes. Note: Handling fresh chamomile plants may cause dermatitis in some individuals. It should not to be used when using anti-coagulant drugs. Please note that the essential oil is said to stimulate the uterus and should be used with care in pregnancy. Allergic reactions may occur – normally people allergic to daisies.

Lemon/Tomato Paste: 1 tsp. of tomato juice,  1/2 tsp. lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric powder and 1 tsp. of flour. Apply around the eyes and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. The lemon refreshes and stimulates white corpuscles. Additionally

Above are just a few simple steps to eliminate dark circles under eyes. Another alternative is to invest in a good concealer to lighten up the eye area.

A lot of people often think that cellulite is only for people who are obese and it cannot be helped since there is really a connection between cellulite and obesity. However, it should not be solely associated to fat or obesity since there is also a lot of people who have cellulite but are not obese at all.

The fact is that nobody really knows the exact reasons why people accumulate cellulite. However, there are some health markers that are being pointed out in the development of cellulite in a person. One factor mentioned is the hormonal changes that occur inside the body when we are aging.

However, none of all these factors really prove that they can cause the development of cellulites. The only major factor that can be pointed out is that women have rigid and firm connective tissues therefore any changes that occurs in the woman’s body may produce cellulite. This is the reason why cellulite tends to develop more in women than in men.

What are your alternatives to eliminate cellulite?

2 – Increase physical activity; maintain food intake

This means that starting out an exercise program and keeping a healthy diet would definitely help you reduce cellulite to a great extent.

Cellulite can be very disfiguring and even though you cannot remove cellulite 100%, there are things you can do to reduce cellulite fast => up to 78% in 30 days..
